I decided today to share what I've been loving in the last couple of months, apart from my usual
staple products.
Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer: I got the full size of this primer last year after using a few samples and being totally blown away. I put it away because a) it's really expensive and b) it's really expensive (hehe). On special occasions, I mix this with my Becca Ever Matte Poreless Perfecting primer for airtight oil control, but lately I've started using this daily because my skin has been acting up and feeling a little dry. It helps my foundation glide on and blend into my skin seamlessly. It also helps with oil control. I've really re-fallen back in love with it. It's available at Sephora, Harrods and everywhere Hourglass cosmetics are sold.
MAC Lustreglass in Love Nectar: This was one of the first MAC glosses I bought. Walk up to any MAC counter as a woman of colour and ask for a nice gloss and this would definitely be recommended to you, it's like part of the MAC Starter pack for WOC (Women of Colour), lol. Anyways, it's a gorgeous gloss with this pretty multi-dimensional shine that is really nice on pretty much everyone. I've been wearing it almost everyday (when I wear makeup) in the last few weeks. It's available at MAC store nationwide.
Maybelline Super Stay 24 Hr Foundation: I raved about this foundation on my Instagram page (if you're not following there, you totally should :) my handle is @coverallsandlipstick) . It's really long lasting and my perfect shade (which is very rare for me). In this economy, I can't use my beloved Lancôme Teint Idole foundation everyday because, guys, it ain't cheap, so it's great to have a cheaper alternative that's available here in Nigeria. On the days I don't use my (also beloved, lol I know I know) Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless, this is what I use. I got mine from the Maybelline store on Adeniran Ogunsanya Street, Surulere.
Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover: This has been a great alternative to my (once again beloved) Sephora Eye Makeup Remover (seriously guys, it's amazing) plus it's cheaper AND I found it here in Nigeria at Prince Ebeano Supermarket in Lekki Phase one. It takes off my eye makeup, even the hard-to-remove Inglot no 77 gel liner, effortlessly, without me having to tug on my eyelids. It also doesn't irritate my eyes which is a great thing.
Makeup Forever Aqua Brow Corrector: I ran out of my Colourpop brow pencils and decided to check my (diminishing) stash and rediscovered this bad boy. It's the PERFECT colour for me without making my brows look too stark or ashy. The consistency is great so it's really easy to apply AND being waterproof, this baby DOES NOT BUDGE when it sets. I love it. I got mine from Sephora.
Neutrogena Ultra Light Cleansing Oil: My ride or die cleansing oil is the MAC Cleanse Off Oil, but I've run out of that too. I saw this on a favourites video on YouTube ( can't remember the person) and decided to try it out. And I like it. A lot. It takes off all my makeup and rinses off well without leaving any oily residue. It won't replace my beloved MAC but it's a very close second. And the price is not bad either. I've also been meaning to try the Clinique Take The Day Off Balm. Who knows, it may feature in my next favourites post.
Van Cleef & Arpels Reve: I bought this perfume over a year ago and it sat on my vanity gathering dust. I liked it when I bought it, but then it started to smell a little too Grandma-ish on me, so I stopped wearing it. However, lately, it's the scent I've worn everyday I left my house. I totally suck at describing scents. I really like it. I got mine from Montaigne Place at the Palms shopping Mall in Lagos, Nigeria.

Thanks for sharing. I ran to Sephora to get the hourglass veil primer and I'm in loooooove!!! Phew, now I can sharply dump the Make up For Ever Step 1 that's not doing jack for me! Look forward to reading about more faves. I am a Lancome Teint Idole believer as well! -
